“….until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
I have been a Christian since I was 10 years old and have been serving from that age as well. For the past 20 years, I have also worked with a lot of people, organisations and churches as a creative media technology consultant, music producer and more widely, a learning and talent development strategist.
As the church strategy and approach continues to evolve and adapt to the realities of an ever-changing world, I see a real opportunity to sharpen the church’s effort in developing every believer as a person, as a Christian and as a leader. Help them grow and mature to fulfil their ministry inside and outside the church, at home, at the office or in the community.
We already have some form of strategy and we spend a lot of time on different types of development programs like workers training, bible study, training for lay-leaders, and so. We are also familiar with enlisting professional services for physical infrastructure, music, audio/video technology and other similar technical requirements.
So, now, I am keen to explore how we might work with willing churches to review and enhance the strategy and execution approach especially as they relate to people and talent development.
Sharpen the strategy with an execution focus on people and talent development
Leverage technology to achieve greater scale and impact in communicating (attracting and activating), educating (aligning and instructing) and training (enabling and empowering) people in line with your strategy
See members influence and enact change inside and outside the church context.
Possibly scale to develop others outside the church as a way to raise the bar on general competency and maturity as well as a possible path to attracting non-believers.
In my learning and talent development work outside of the church, I have observed that the current level of support available to organisations and most people is often a fragmented proposition of either training, coaching, mentoring (advice) or a transactional purchase of end products (courses or tech solutions). I see the value of a holistic support engagement model that offers an integrated proposition of advisory & consulting, training & coaching through a collaborative working and learning relationship with experts.
That's why I’ve created such a service in DTB services. Our engagement models ensure each person, group or team gets the support of a dedicated development consultant able to augment their capability through development interventions and their capacity for timely deliverables through collaborative working.
