I received some questions about how the framework deals with people management, is it “supervising”?
So I thought I’d explain and get some reactions.
Supervising is simply about task or activity supervision only. I’m contrast, People management is about managing individual or team capabilities or performance or managing talent.
So in the career optimiser framework, “people” is a domain just like domains in business, control and support. This means “people” can be primary domain (where the solution is coming from) or secondary domain (where the problem to be solved exists)
HR offers people domain solutions (primary) to people in any domain (secondary). While people managers offer people domain solutions (primary) to people in their domain or teams (secondary)
The image below tries to summarize this 🙂
